NEWSLETTER January / February 2017

Dear Parents/Carers,

Maths Workshops
Thank you again to those parents who were able to attend our first three Maths Workshops (Multiplication) on 11th January, (Division) on 25th January and (Fractions) on 8th February. It was wonderful to have so many parents attending. Our next workshop is on Wednesday 1st March when we will cover Measure. I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Thank you,
Mrs Bush - Maths Lead

Netball & Football Teams

Well done to our Netball Team for a superb effort at their two netball matches against Ardleigh Green and Clockhouse. Unfortunately we lost but fun was had by all.

Well done to our Boys & Girls Football Teams for their superb effort at their matches. The boys match was against St Edwards and the Girls against Oakfields Montessori.

Keep up all the enthusiasm and hard work

Mrs. King, Mrs. Chestnutt, Mrs. Turnbull and Mr. Leslie

We would like to say a huge thank you to one of our ex pupils, Joe Hall, for the graphic design work he has recently done for us for our website. Please take a look at the Home page every week and check our Award winners. We publish which classes have won our Attendance Awards, which House have been awarded the most Housepoints and which children have achieved a Gold certificate each week. Also, please do check either the Events List or Events Calendar regularly for updates.

Literacy Workshop

Thank you to all those parents that attended the Grammar and Spelling Workshop on Tuesday 31st January. It was a great opportunity for parents to learn more about the areas that are covered in the Year 3 & 4 Grammar curriculum and to see how spelling progresses as the children move up through the school.
There will be a further workshop for Year 5 and 6 parents on Tuesday 7th March at 9am. All parents are welcome!

We have recently received complaints from residents who live in neighbouring streets as parents are parking over their driveways. They have advised us that it is happening more and more and causing stress and very bad feelings with some awkward confrontations. Please can we therefore remind you to be considerate of our neighbours when parking and not to cause obstructions.

This half term we say a sad farewell to Mrs Hall, Mrs Lockwood, Mrs Wagner and Mrs Spreckley who are all moving onto pastures new. On behalf of the school community, I would like to thank them for the support and guidance they have given to the children at Squirrels Heath over the years and wish them well in their future endeavours.
