Dear Parents/Carers,

Parent Surveys

Thank you to all those parents who responded to our parent’s survey. Out of 135 responses received:

We appreciate parents taking the time to complete the survey and providing feedback. As always we will endeavour to address any concerns raised.

Children In Need

On Friday 16th November the children were invited to wear something spotty to support Children In Need. Thank you to everyone who made a donation we raised £224.85 for the charity.

Well done to all the children that took part in sport fixtures this term. We have had some wins, some draws and some losses. As always, the children have tried their best, enjoyed themselves and made us all at Squirrels Heath Junior School very proud.

Thank you to all the parents for your continued support at these events. We really do appreciate it!

A huge thank you to Mr. Petherick for donating fabulous new Football Kits to the school. The children love them and will be proudly wearing them long into the future.

Rockstars and Sumdog Consent Forms

At Squirrels, we are always looking for new ways to support children's learning. This year we have invested in Rockstars, an app to allow children to learn their times tables at home on any device through songs. In addition, Years 3 and 5 also have the opportunity to use Sumdog, a program that allows children to secure key skills both in school and at home. Both have shown to be highly effective in school. Due to GDPR regulations however, we must‚Äč have your consent before we can put children's names on the programs. Thank you to those of you who have completed these forms. If you have not signed the form yet, please do so as soon as possible - your child's teacher has a copy for you, and it can also be completed in the office.

Open Evening and Data Collection Sheets

If you were unable to attend parents’ evening and would like the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, please contact the school office. Also, if you have not yet collected your data collection sheet would you please call into the school office to collect it as soon as possible please. It is very important that we ensure we have your up to date contact details so would really appreciate you taking this opportunity to check all the information we have to ensure it is correct. Alternatively, if you are happy for us to send the form home with your child please let the office know.

Free School Meals

We would like to encourage any parents or carers who think they may be eligible to claim for free school meals to apply. Please visit our website and click on the ‘Apply for Free School Meals’ tab on the Homepage for more information.

P.E. Kit

Unfortunately, there are still a number of children who do not have a P.E. kit in school. We have a very limited amount of spare P.E. kit in school to loan to children. Please therefore ensure that your child always has their P.E. kit in school so that they do not have to miss their P.E. lessons:
